Interactive brokers - Higher margin requirements for option spreads?
A couple of years ago I could go ultra levered on calendar spreads or credit spreads.. Now I can barely go 4x.. Is it because I've moved from portfolio margin to the normal regT account? Or have they closed up some of the risk we can take? Thanks!
Anyone ever received this message from Interactive Brokers regarding forex transactions? is that normal? What can I do about that? Thanks

IBKR offers currency conversion as a convenience to clients who largely trade securities or commodities. I recently opened a margin account on Interactive brokers to take advantage of their low lending rates. Can someone on this sub explain to me what % of a drawdown my portfolio could endure without being margin called? Is there a formula for calculating this percentage? None of the metrics on the brokerage site seem to clearly state this. All I see is Buying Power, Excess Liquidity, etc.

so this is how leverage margin works in Bitcoin (forex broker). 1 unit is 100,000 so if you use leverage of 100:1 to short or go long in any crypto you just need Less money to execute the trade but leverage is dangerous
